I still love these Hi-Low skirts, they look so great with boots. Also for spring collage cotton skirts and more lacey layers in blush and creams. Really I just love skirts in any weather!

I went to LA yesterday for a fabric shopping day. That place is just so inspiring! The fabrics are so amazing. I got up around 5am to catch my flight and it was 4 degrees here in Utah!!! By lunch time in LA it was about 78 , so nice to just sit outside and raise my face to the sun and feel the heat! I have soooooo many new ideas for spring! Usually I get about 1/3 completed. I stalked up on trims, laces, velvets, appliques and ribbons. I got this whole bag of misc appliques of different shapes and colors, have no idea what to do with it, but I know I'll have fun figuring it out. Just thought I'd share some random pics from the last month. If you want more up to date info and pics, I post on facebook everyday, just click on the link over there to the right. I wish I would of had time to go for a run, it would of been so nice to wear shorts and run along the beach. But today I'm back to fleece tights , layers,gloves, and a hat and I'll probably take Thor for a run around our frozen lake. Have a great weekend!!Hug someone!

Asia and Austin's Wedding

Getting more pics from the wedding in. I love that you can make those hard cover books with all the pictures. It was a perfect day!! Asia loved her dress, the bottom had about 40 handmade flowers out of silk and chiffon , the rhinestone belt was made up of jewelry from Grandparents and aunts, the jacket was glass beaded peacock feathers on silk. She wanted the tables done in Gypsy colors, and Dad spray painted the chairs gold. It was crazy getting everything together, especially when we did everything ourselves, Aunt Sonya made the cake, we had it at our place,Dave did all the trees and lights and I made the dress.Seriously it took me about two full days to recover.But it turned out perfect!

So many order to be mailed off! I'm almost done!! Then I need to start my christmas shopping. Seriously I've been sewing non- stop for the last two weeks, and tomorrow I think I'll be done! Then we're off to Vista , Ca where we can just be in warmer weather, it has not gotten above 30 for a long time!!! I'm so ready for a vacation and just to relax with my family. Hope all of you have a fabulous Christmas!!! I'll be buying new fabrics for spring! Can't wait to show you the new clothes I have in mind.

So my oldest daughter is getting married. And we've been working on her dress, which changed daily the first couple of weeks.It turned out so pretty and so much of her personality shines through.Tulle and chiffon flowers around the bottom, jeweled belt made with jewels from her Grandmaothers and aunts. Her dad is in charge of turning our gym into a reception hall, and we had all these metal chairs,well they decided that gold would look really cool, so in the last day he has spray painted about 80 chairs gold!!! I never realized how expensive gold paint was!! Two more days until the big day!!! So this is one of my reasons I might be slow on getting to my emails or posting new things in my shop. And of course our laundry room flooding and having to buy new appliances!

Just got back from The Hamptons, ran the Half Marathon. It was such a fun trip!! The weather was great, the course beautiful. We got to go into Manhatten too. Visited my favorite place ABC Home and Carpet.Shopped in Sag Harbor, went to dinner at the Yacht club... just so much to do and see. The house was fabulous, Steve and Lucy our host were so gracious. And my fellow runners Niki, Amy 1 and Amy 2 were great! As soon as I get pictures I'll post them from the race.
So here's a few new things, Ruffle skirts, i pad cases, belts, and new fall purses.New fabric arrived while I was gone too! As soon as I unpack my bags I'll get to work!!

So I was at Madeleine L'Amour last night and I was thinking, this is the perfect place for brides trying to find that unique hair accessory, jewelry or gift for their bridesmaids. Or for those that are attending the wedding, there are beautiful clips, oh so feminine flower belts, lacey skirts, pretty pretty jewelry. It's such a fun lovely store. So many people walk in and say it's like walking into another world. One little girl looked in the window and said to her mum, " I think that's where fairies live". I love doing these purses, it all started because I just wanted little reminders of some of the pretty vintage velvet fabrics I had. And I didn't need to have ten purses out of them all! Most of these fabrics are from the 1960's and some are Italian cut velvet. So soft and still such vibrant colors. Just listed some in the shop, each one is different. As different and unique as we all are!

Oh this is nuts ! I'm going back and forth between three computers to try and find where I uploaded my pictures. " My" computer has a huge virus on it, so I went over to the kids one to get some pictures done, but then Riza had to finish a paper and that ones connected to the printer, so I went over to Daves.... so I'm hopping from one computer to the next trying to upload and edit pictures. Ugh kinda making me a little crazy!! I'm getting a new computer!!! Hopefully today, but today is one of THOSE days,.. Visiting teaching, soccer games, I have no idea what I'm doing for achievement days, Helping Zerin fill out his mission papers ( yea) , need to bring diner to our neighbor, who poor thing broke her ankle, then off to a Relief Society meeting, then meeting up with a paranormal group that wants to go through our house/church after that. And right now I'm answering emails on one computer, editing pics on another and posting things for sale on the third!! It's just one of those Wednesdays! I'll let you know if they find any nice angels here, I'm sure we have a few watching out for us! Off to make some tea while my pics are loading . Breathe!

Riza's been wanting to style this shoot for a long time, and being the encouraging mother that I am , I said go set it all up and call me when you want me to take the pictures. Seriously I went outside snapped about 10 pictures then went back inside cuz it was too cold. So I'm glad she got some that she liked. She even edited them all. Running and Yoga two favorite things to do to get in shape fast. So some pics to get me motivated.. I always wished I could be as limber as a dancer, but no such luck! Incredible abs on these women, not that I will be wearing a bikini anytime soon, but I"m going to work on my core strength a little bit more. Yes that's me in the last picture It's a race to the top of Farmington canyon then down 6 more miles. Was first women twice before, ummm about 5 years ago, but I'm getting ready to run it again!!! Warm weather is here! Time to start doing our favorite things to get strong!!

I had my birthday last week, it was fun of course, but I really missed spending it with my sis! She's my twin actually, and my mom said that I cried until I heard her cry then I settled down. She also said when they would put us to sleep in the crib, we'd move and wiggle until we were touching, then we'd fall asleep. The problem is she lives half way around the world, in Singapore to be exact! But we talk or connect everyday!! Sisters are amazing I have two others that I adore, but having someone so close that you just about shared most of your growing up together is lucky! So call your sis today if you haven't yet!!

I love using vintage fabrics, and I think part of the reason is the hunt for something beautiful.When I first started making purses ( about 14 years ago!)and , I would get the upholstery fabric samples from some retailers that were just throwing them away. Most of the time they were just one color, so I would end up appliqueing something on them to make them more interesting and beautiful.I call it the "the across room factor". Make something that is unique enough that it makes you want to cross the room to go see it.And a lot of vintage fabrics have that quality. Most of these fabrics are from Estate sales, and just have another era feel to them, they are so gorgeous!!

This fun fabric has lace and a little bit of sequence on it.It is a knit so there is a nice stretch to it. I love the lycra band on top, because you can wear it at your hips, at your waist or as a top! I just listed it in my shop.

New York fashion week just finished so now it's off to Paris. Of course Japan , Brazil and Russian Fashion Weeks are very inspirational too.A lot of these pics are from Spring , but I couldn't help include some from Fall 2011. Alexander McQueen,Rodarte,Temperley London,Jean Paul Gaultier and the top four are Wunderkind. Such fabulous mixes of fabrics and textures! Lot's of movement and longer hem lines. Love it ! This weekend we flew to L.A. It was perfect weather.I made two trips to L.A. Fabric district, which is so amazing, fabulous fabrics that I've never seen before.Stopped by the Fashion and Design School to shop in the little store there. We took a nap at the beach, walked Santa Monica pier, ate sushi in Little Tokyo.In the evening we watched the street performers on the Promenade .And visited the Getty Museum. That in itself was spectacular! Such an amazing space, you get off the tram and you are immediately in a whole other realm. We fit all that into one weekend.WEW! So inspired for spring! Can't wait to start designing with my new fabrics. Going to see lots of layers and ruffles.

Here's a few little things that have caught my eye for spring and I haven't even been over to the JCrew site yet. I"m still loving the lace layers. At our last trunk show the layered skirts flew out of there! I dye a lot of my fabrics to just get the right shade of pink or blush color that I'm loving right now. When I get some more made I'll take pics before I take them to shows, promise!! Shoes from Forever 21 ( they are making them a lot sturdier now) Clothes from Modcloth website and spring 2011 runway shows.

I want to share more about Jeni's store in Centerville, it is so unique, pretty , pink ,sparkly,shiny and lovely. A little girl summed it up just right, while looking in the window she said " Mom this is where Fairies live." When you walk in Jeni and her mom greet you with just warm inviting smiles. They are just as excited about your purchases as you are! Wrapping them up with tissue and bows. They have decorated so cute, there are little treasures to be found all over the store.So take your time soaking it all in.

Happy Chinese New Year! Year of the Rabbit, should be a very prosperous one!!! That's my little niece Jade shopping in Singapore, they are going to send me those cherry blossom branches with Butterflys. Love all that color!!

Just a little photo shoot. Kalani from Whimsycupcakes shot these for me. Her girls are fabulous and wonderful to work with! Her cupcakes are amazing! Really fun and different flavors, I like the rootbeer float and coconut ones . Here is a little sneak peek of our new vintage lace line of skirts for little girls. I stumbled across this first photo and had to know more. This is the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston,if your name if Isabella you can get in free! Please tell me if you have ever visited there, I'm enthralled with this Lady and what she accomplished. I also wouldn't mind the landscaping or those windows!
Isabella Stewart Gardner first welcomed visitors to her museum on New Year's Day, 1903. On that evening guests listened to the music of Bach, Mozart, and Schumann, gazed in wonder at the courtyard full of flowers, and viewed one of the nation's finest collections of art. Today, visitors experience much the same thing. The Gardner Museum has remained essentially unchanged since its founder's death in 1924. Unchanged but certainly not stagnant. Three floors of galleries surround a garden courtyard blooming with life in all seasons.

I can't find my camera's memory card!!! I was going to upload pictures of some new Valentines skirts, but I can't find it. So I thought I's just share what I have printed out for inspiration . I love blue and pink together, can be sky blue and candy cane pink or a rich turquoise and hot pink! Just a great combo all around. I have a spare somewhere, so hopefully I can share, I got this great embossed velvet from India I want to show you!

Hope everyone had a magical Christmas! This year was just really laid back, we played games, talked and of course baked ! Loved having Asia and Zerin home. It just feels so complete when the collage kids are home!

Oooooh look what I just just bought!! I collect Nativity's , I have way to many now to even take out of the boxes. But I always put up my favorite ones, the one Dave brought me back from Africa, the wire one one he made when we were first married, my all silver one, the really tall goth ones my mom brought back, the one from the holy land, one from the Catholic store, my tiny tiny one where baby Jesus is as big as a piece of rice. Most of mine were gifts from wonderful friends! Now I added some of Ann Gardner's prints to it. Ann is such a fun Artist with a wide range of style, I like her folk art a lot. She even does really cool family portraits that just add such personal detail, like your house in the background or the necklace your wearing. A time for sharing

Yup that's my parents! My dad turns 80 this year! And he still swims the pier swim in Oceanside . Usually beating a lot of the 50 year olds. He competes in the senior games every year too! My mom calls me and talks about how she did a triathlon today, road her bike to the golf course, played 18 holes of golf then swam her mile with dad. Seriously when they come here it's hard to keep up. They are so full of love and energy! I've learned how to play hard from my parents but I've also learned how to share. Growing up with eight brothers and sisters and 5 different foster kids throughout our lives there was no other option. There are so many times when someone just needed something more than we did, so my parents would put toys, clothes and food together and drop it off. Our home was always open to anyone who needed help. I remember being little and having a whole family sharing our dinner at the table because while they were vacationing in calif, there little boy had gotten hit by a car, they didn't know anyone, but my Dad was a bishop and his name was listed in the phone book. So my mom brought all the kids to our house so the parents could stay at the hospital. I don't ever remember feeling put out, just so happy we could help.
There are so many opportunities around us to just do little things everyday.This is a little personal, but I thought I'd share just an easy way to spread love. I run just about everday, and as I'm out on my run I just send little prayers of thanks ,or love or ask for help for my neighbors as I pass their houses. Kids waiting for the bus that don't look very happy, I'll send a little prayer their way , that they'll have a good day. I feel that there is so much energy behind prayer. Recently my wonderful friend Mindy took her family on thanksgiving to serve the homeless in Salt Lake, she asked if we had any extra coats, because they always have need of them. Well I asked my neighbors if they had any extras and with in 4 days I had 7 big bags full of wonderful warm coats.Dave calls it a coat and a prayer. Because along with the coats that were given, we now send a prayer out for the little girl who's wearing Pipers purple coat that she will feel peace, or the lady who might be wearing my black coat that she will feel love that day. It has just helped us to just feel a little more connected to whom ever we are sharing with.
I hope we can just find simple things to do everyday, that just spreads love, kindness and smiles.I also want to just say a huge thank you to all of you that have supported my little company!! It's so wonderful to hear that somehow what I make, makes you smile. There is a lot of passion going into what I do. And I have a ton of gratitude to our great Creator to be able to do it!

We're having a big open house at my place this Tuesday! This is were I have stuff on sale and little extra's I don't bring to the shows. Scripture bags, coin purses, cosmetics for example. I'll also have Cynthia here with over 1,000 charms to make one of a kind necklaces and such.Handmade lotions and soaps. I love this lotion for my face and the soap makes my shower (and me) small so good! Lots of hair pretties too. And some sweets for neighborhood gifts or just to eat on the way home. The weather should be good, so come on over!

If you don't have this book by Tricia Guild you should consider putting it on your list! Tricia is an amazing designer, I love her passion for color and textures, it just spills over in her fabrics and designs.When I'm stumped for ideas I reach for her book and become so excited to play with color and textures all over again.
Also I thought I'd share my little piles. When I'm playing with new fabric I start to put little piles together of colors or trims ect...some stay in piles but more get made into something... the red and purple pom poms is the cutest little girls twirly skirt with red tulle!

Two shows Salt Lake area

These shows are going on this week! They both just have an eclectic mix of fun unique gifts, decoration, nativity's, jewelry and of course purses and skirts. These are about the last shows on my list in the Salt Lake area. So if you were waiting to purchase purses or skirts you might want to go to these. I get most of my Christmas shopping done at these fun Boutiques!

I am just amazed when I go to these art Markets and Bazaars! So much creativity all in one place! I got some great Christmas gifts and some just fun little things for me! It is all so inspiring!! I'll post some pics!
Shows next week in Salt lake and our big show will be Dec 14th here, with a lot of Sale items too! So Cache Valley people mark your calenders!
Did you notice we're adding back pockets to the big purses?
That first purse is Italian cut velvet from the 50's! If you love it I'm using it up fast so you might think about buying one soon.
